This is my version of the traditional Scottish Thistle. When creating this piece, I wanted to accent the openness of the thistle's leaves with a tightly woven Celtic knot. The effect creates motion in that the downward points of the Celtic knot near the Thistle's stem creates a "rising" quality for the Thistle's crown. This piece measures 12" x 12" and is ready for framing.
