Original Celtic Art From Ravensdaughter Designs

ILLUMINATIONS

The term "illuminated" means to fill with light, an effect which is traditionally achieved when the item painted is accented with gold leaf. An illuminated manuscript is a text that has been decorated with both bold leaf and bright colors, and is often depicted with a large first capital letter. The illuminated letters I have painted were all original creations for members of the historical society, the SCA. They each depict iconography and colors personal to the recipient. While none of the illuminated letters pictured here are for sale, you can commission an illuminated letter of your own by contacting me with your request. Anne Ravensdaughter.
